Beccy MeilhanBeccy Meilhan

Beccy is a qualified and experienced HR Professional who joined the team in August 2015 as a HR Advisor.

Beccy has recently worked for the NHS managing a GP Surgery and University of Hull Students Union as a HR Officer. Prior to that Beccy had worked in a local authority HR team as a Personnel Advisor supporting schools.

Beccy is here to answer your helpline calls and provide advice and guidance on any queries you may have and may assist on site when required. Beccy will also work alongside Nick to keep the policies and procedures handbook up to date.

Vicki DennisonVicki Dennison

Vicki is an experienced HR professional who has joined the team as HR Advisor in January 2018. Vicki previously worked with a local authority providing a full range of HR advice on queries, including working with schools. More recently she worked for eMBED Health Consortium as an HR Adviser providing HR support to Clinical Commissioning Groups across the Yorkshire and Humber.

Vicki is here to support clients with complex casework and provide HR advice to all clients via the helpline. She will also be responsible for researching changes to employment law and good practice and updating the HR handbook for schools and academies.

Vicki is studying for her MSc in HR Management and we anticipate will be a great asset to the company!

Nick has been with HCA since 2008, having previously worked in management in the food sector.

He has now retired as an HR advisor but is maintaining his contact with the company working part time doing the payroll, producing and sending the invoices and keeping the accounts up to date.

Karen DelgadoKaren Delgado


Karen Delgado is a successful, HR professional with extensive experience of leading and enabling multi-disciplinary teams to make significant changes in the public, private and voluntary sectors. Successful tenures include HR Director at Turning Point and Head of Strategy and Employee Services for London Borough of Tower Hamlets, project managing a variety of business critical objectives, delivering innovative outcomes in change and people management, reward and recognition, employee relations and TUPE.

An HR Consultant since 2007, Karen has completed numerous contracts, including delivery of HR operational and consultancy services to all types of schools, advising on TUPE transfers’ in excess of 25 academy programmes, as well as resolving complex employee relations casework, trade union negotiations, restructures and workplace mediation. She is regarded as an outstanding communicator, influencer and implementer, able to quickly diagnose issues, providing robust and balanced business solutions.

Yvonne RamsaranYvonne Ramsaran


Yvonne is a Fellow of the CIPD, and before moving into HR, gained 15 years experience working as a solicitor in the public, private and voluntary sectors during which time she acted on behalf of schools in a number of employment tribunal cases. Yvonne worked closely with schools when she was a senior solicitor and then Head of Litigation with Ealing Council, having joined the authority just as it was going through a major reorganisation of its schools. She has advised on conduct dismissals and redundancies, race discrimination cases and poor performance issues. Yvonne is experienced in conducting statutory consultations and negotiating with staff and trade unions on proposed changes to terms and conditions of service.

Sue PendleSue Pendle


Sue is an independent HR Consultant working primarily with Academies, Schools, Local Authorities and other public sector employers. She has previously worked at a senior level in a range of Local Authorities, and at a national level with the DfE, advising on School Workforce issues. She supports major restructuring and merger projects, including TUPE transfer work and redundancy handling, HR improvement work, workforce strategy development and pay and grading work as well as individual casework support. Sue is based in Bath and provides coverage across the South of England.

Gillian C Meeson

Extensive advisory experience gained from previous employment in a Local Authority HR Service. In 2010 started own company delivering specialist HR support to schools and academies.

Insight into educational aspects of employee relations acquired from working within a variety of educational establishments over several years supporting headteachers and school managers in complex education HR issues and delivering training on a number of HR topics.

These activities include: advising on terms and conditions of employment, recruitment and selection, capability, performance management, disciplinary, grievance, restructures, redundancy, redeployment, sickness absence, dispute resolution and TUPE etc.

John Boyden

John is a highly experienced Human Resources Practitioner with a comprehensive understanding of HRM business and technical issues and organizational change. His background covers management, generalist and strategic HR roles within Education, Schools and Public Sectors. As a former member of the Senior HR Leadership Team in the Children & Young People’s Directorate in Sheffield, John developed and implemented coherent HR strategies that allowed the service to operate as a successful business and traded service to schools in Sheffield and the sub-region. Since leaving the public sector John continues to be employed directly by schools/ academies and public sector on all matters relating to HR practice and management.

Tracy Humphrey


Tracy Humphrey Tracy has been working as an Independent HR Consultant since 2009, having worked in a range of HR roles for the previous 20 years in the commercial sector. She now works with a mix of educational, charitable and commercial organisations providing HR Management project work covering: planning for and implementing change, including redundancy planning and implementation; TUPE transfers; capability and grievance or disciplinary cases. She also specialises in psychometric assessments and uses these in selection and development, whether on an individual or a team-wide basis. An established primary school Governor she has current experience of the range of broader issues faced by schools whether they operate under the Local Authority, or are Academies or Independent schools.

Linda Coote

Linda CooteLinda is the founding director of Catalyst Contractors and a Director level HR professional who has worked with boards and executive teams in the private, not-for-profit, public, and educational sectors. A strong people and project manager, optimising business performance has been a key factor in achieving a record of commercial success. Adept at developing and implementing HR Strategy that requires radical change in medium, large and complex organisations.

In depth experience of initiating and delivering a broad range of HR programmes, “inception through to delivery” is her forte. Her key specialisms are: HR Strategy and Consultancy; Organisational Development and Change; Project Management; Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Development; Restructures and TUPE transfers; Reward & Recognition; Performance Improvement, Trade Union Negotiations and Consultation processes.
